Let's define "innovation" for the conversation
    - Internal team/process upgrades and experimentation
    - Tech debt, Framework changes ,etc.
    - Process improvements
    - new idea creation and implementation
    - Unstructured time

Roadblocks/Issues/Concerns:
    - Budgetary
    - Potential Impacts to other teams (QA, Marketing, etc.)

Ways to try and fit innovation into the schedule:
    - Last couple hours of a day
    - a couple days each sprint
    - a set hack-a-thin ( one day each quarter or one week each year )
    - Hide it
    - in place of teams going to conferences instead propose a week of innovation.
    - Dedicated portion of the team to innovation (a labs team)

Successful implementations:
    - 2 days innovation in a 9 day sprint
    - afternoon of innovation once a week and then hand off to a labs group for implementation

Ways to get buy in:
    - Gather and share data (good or bad)
    - Radiators to the team and externals
        - What's being worked, and what's the progress
        - Demo the results
        - Performance graphs of statistics gathered
        - Ideas list
    - Frequent show & tell

Goals/Motivations/Reasons to have innovation in an organization:
    - Performance improvements from innovation on frameworks, internal processes, tech debt
    - Potential marketable products derived from the innovation of new feature ideas
    - Learning/Spiking
    - Potential up and coming problems in iteration would get resolved early
    - Team morale
